… and, I’m back!

I did not intend to unplug like that but I did. I’m back and I had a great time.

I spent zero time on the freeway, took the back roads, and just relaxed. I read (finished, really) 3 books. They were “Hero on a Mission: A Path to a Meaningful Life” by Donald Miller, “Live Not by Lies: A Manual for Christian Dissidents” by Rod Dreher, and “Believing Is Seeing: A Physicist Explains How Science Shattered His Atheism and Revealed the Necessity of Faith” by Michael Guillen. They were all great reads and I would recommend them to you.

I followed the Ukraine invasion by Russia, the State of the Union speech and have listened to more news than I wanted to. I’ll check in a few times to see if we are at war but that’s about it.

I have learned that I have very little control of most things so I do my best not to fret over things I can’t control. One quote that rings true from one of the books I mentioned. Rod Dreher said, “The ordinary man may not be able to overturn the kingdom of lies, but he can at least say that he is not going to be its loyal subject.” That is one thing I have control over and I know the truth matters. The hard part is coaxing the truth out of the noise.

Don’t believe everything you think.
