Lies I Taught in Medical School

Well, not me but Dr. Robert Lufkin.

I just started reading this book but suspected that this is true for a while. I have been following Vinnie Tortorich and others like him for almost 2 years. They are teaching that carbohydrates (one of the 3 macronutrients) are not essential and the increased consumption of them has caused the obesity epidemic in this nation. That goes hand in hand with type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, and coronary artery disease.

From the book:

Type 2 diabetes is caused by carbohydrates in the diet, which stimulates insulin. Insulin resistance occurs when there are chronic high levels of insulin, which results in cells being less sensitive to a given dose of insulin. This requires even higher levels of insulin, which can make the resistance worse—a vicious circle.

Cutting calories and exercising more doesn’t actually work.

What is the CDC doing to help prevent this life-shortening, first-ever, noninfectious epidemic? Treating the symptoms instead of the cause.

Dr. Robert Lufkin – Lies I Taught in Medical School

That’s just from the first chapter! I’ll post a follow-up to this when I finish the book but I wanted to get the information out and help as many people as I could.

If you want to know more about all this, check out Vinnie’s website, and his documentaries Fat and Fat 2, and you can see the book by Robert Lufkin, MD if you go here to Amazon.

Join me on a trip down the rabbit hole!

Thanks for listening,
Jerry
