When you wake up…

“When you wake up in the morning, tell yourself: The people I deal with today will be meddling, ungrateful, arrogant, dishonest, jealous and surly… None of them can hurt me. Don’t waste the rest of your time here worrying about other people… It will keep you from doing anything useful. Why do you complain rather than act?”

Marcus Aurelius
ai generated, man, liar

Reading that makes me think of politicians, news outlets, and a few people.

Our pastor started a series on relationships and he touched on the most important thing. Honesty. If you want to see the message then click here.

Another thing I thought of was Andy Andrews‘s book, “How Do You Kill 11 Million People?” I usually give out copies of this short book at election time. It’s not a right or left thing. He never mentions the two political parties. He talks about the truth and the damage that telling a lie causes.

So, if Marcus Aurelius said Why do you complain rather than act?”, what are we to do?

How about telling the truth? How about not lying? And a half-truth is a whole lie.

How about giving it some thought? I’m going to.

Thanks for listening,
Jerry
