I did something on a whim to see how it would turn out. It turned out to be fun.
I signed up to be a mentor on Facebook. There were some questions to answer and a promise to help, without cost and I did all that a couple of months ago.
Two days ago I got a request to connect from a young lady and after checking it out to be legit, I agreed to ‘meet’ the next day. She pointed out a 5 hour time difference and I messaged her via FB messenger the next day at a reasonable hour.
She responded and I hit ‘video call’. I about 10 seconds we were connected and talking face to face. How cool is that!!
She is starting a business in England, creating a website to gather information on retreats available to share with her sphere of influence. We talked about her business and what she was trying to do for about 40 minutes. I was happy to help, to talk, and refer her to some books to read and a video or two to watch and then agreed to meet up again after she’d digested that info.
I am fascinated at how easy this was, how open she was with what she needed help with, and I could actually be of help to her from half a globe away.
I’d be willing to do more of that, especially in the current situation.
